A California-born oil, water-media, and resin artist. Growing up between two worlds, she was shaped by country living in the South, and sunny days spent at the beach in Southern California. The ocean captivated her heart, inspiring the name fiery for deep blue. Her love of the water is expressed in her ocean inspired resin paintings on wood panels. It is the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air” that guides Melissa’s artistic expression. Although resin seascapes make up a large portion of the work she does, she also loves to work with other mediums such as watercolor, oil, and acrylic. Creating contemporary pieces with the addition of glitter, metallic, and a bold color palette provides a nice contrast to her serene pieces. Although innately artistic, Melissa began formal training in 2014 at the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is currently represented by International Online Galleries, Singulart and Saatchi Art as well as Off The Walls Studio Gallery in Hollywood for the film, print, and media industry, Five 3 Gallery, and LagunaArt.com Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. In 2019, she was selected as one of 130 artists out of over 600 applicants to present her work at The Other Art Fair in LA, and was juried into the Beverly Hills Art Show in May, 2019. Melissa’s work was featured in the July 2019 issue of VoyageLA Magazine, Orange County’s Hidden Gems: Local Creatives You Should Know Series. Her work has been published in Arkansas Life Magazine 2016 and was featured in the Special 48th Anniversary edition of Southwest Art Magazine May, 2019. In June 2019, she was juried into the 10th Annual American Institute of Architects OC Art walk where she won an Honor Award.
